• MUKACHEVO AS FOLLOWS=
• After the defeat of Francis II Rákóczi the city came under Austrian control in the mid-18th century as part of the Kingdom of Hungary and was made a key fortress of the Habsburg Monarchy.
• In 1726, the Palanok Castle and the town, before 1711 owned by the Rákóczi family, was given by the Habsburgs to the Schönborn family, who were responsible for an expansion of the town.
• They also settled many Germans in the territory, thereby causing an economic boom of the region.
• During 1796-1897, the city’s castle, until then a strong fortress, became a prison.
• The Greek national hero Alexander Ypsilanti was imprisoned at the Palanok Castle between 1821 and 1823.
• Up until World War II and the Holocaust it was primarily a Jewish town, and half the population was Jewish (see below) the rest of the population being Rusyn, Hungarian, Slovak and other minorities.
• Formerly in Czechoslovakia, and before that in Hungary, it was incorporated into Soviet Ukraine after World War II.
• BEREGOVO AS FOLLOWS=
• Serving as the administrative center of Berehove Raion (district), the city itself is also designated as a city of oblast significance, with a status equal to a separate raion.
• It was the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary‘s Bereg County until 1919 and between 1938–1944.
• From 1919 until 1938 it was part of Czechoslovakia.

• The Divine Mercy Shrine (Polish: Sanktuarium Bożego Miłosierdzia) in Kraków, Poland is a Roman Catholic basilica dedicated to the Divine Mercy devotion, as the resting place of Saint Faustina Kowalska, canonized on April 30, 2000.

• The new basilica was built between 1999–2002, and is located in the District of Łagiewniki at św. Faustyny street.
• Three Popes – Pope John Paul II, Benedict XVI, Pope Francis have visited the shrine and millions of pilgrims from around the world continue to visit it every year.

• HUMENNE CASTLE AND SKANZEN AS FOLLOWS=
• Renesančný kaštieľ so záhradami a parkom – niekdajšie sídlo Drughetovcov.
• Prvá zmienka o kaštieli ako o kúrií je z roku 1449. Predpokladá sa, že už na prelome 13. a 14. storočia stál na tomto mieste hrad ako sídlo zemepánov – Drugethovcov (ktorí vlastnili Humenné a okolie i neďaleké hrady) a neskôr Andrassyovcov (so stálou expozíciou histórie kaštieľa, prírodovednou a ďalšími expozíciami a výstavami) – národná kultúrna pamiatka.
• Park vznikol v 19. storočí a pôvodne bol členený na dve časti: francúzsky a anglický s rybníkom. Nachádza sa tu rad cenných a netradičných starých stromov.
• Skanzen ľudovej architektúry s dreveným kostolíkom východného obradu svätého Michala archanjela z roku 1745 z Novej Sedlice a štrnástimi objektmi ľudovej architektúry.

BUDAPEST AS FOLLOWS=

• Budapest has architecturally noteworthy buildings in a wide range of styles and from distinct time periods, from the ancient times as Roman City of Aquincum in Óbuda (District III), which dates to around 89 AD, to the most modern Palace of Arts, the contemporary arts museum and concert hall.
• Most buildings in Budapest are relatively low: in the early 2010s there were around 100 buildings higher than 45 metres (148 ft).
• In the chronological order of architectural styles Budapest represents on the entire timeline. Start with the Roman City of Aquincum represents the ancient architecture.
• Matthias Church in Budapest, built in Gothic and Gothic revival style.
• The next determinative style is the Gothic architecture in Budapest. The few remaining Gothic buildings can be found in the Castle District. Buildings of ntoe are no. 18, 20 and 22 on Országház Street, which date back to the 14th century and No. 31 Úri Street, which has a Gothic façade that dates back to the 15th century.
• Another building with Gothic remains is the Inner City Parish Church (Budapest), built in the 12th century. The most characteristic Gothic-style buildings are actually Neo-Gothic, like the most well-known Budapest landmarks, the Hungarian Parliament Building and the Matthias Church, where much of the original material was used (originally built in Romanesque style in 1015).
• Today, many of the original renaissance buildings disappeared during the varied history of Buda, but Budapest is still rich in renaissance and neo-renaissance buildings, like the famous Hungarian State Opera House, St. Stephen’s Basilica and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

• Tropicarium in Budapest:
• Hlavnou atrakciou Tropicaria je 1,4 mil. litrové žraločie akvárium s 11 metrov dlhým vyhliadkovým tunelom.
• Steny akvária sú zhotovené zo špeciálneho 16 cm. hrubého nerozbitného panoramatického skla.
• Môžeme obdivovať až dvojmetrových tigrovaných či hnedých žralokov pochádzajúcich z Floridy, ktoré patria medzi 10 najnebezpečnejších druhov žralokov.
• Ďalšou mimoriadnou atrakciou je prales, v ktorom návštevníci zažijú skutočnú tropickú klímu.

Budapešť – hlavné mesto uhorského kráľovstva, mesto prezývané “stredoeurópsky Paríž“
• Parlament – najväčšia stavba krajiny
• Reťazový most – prvý most ktorý spojil obidva brehy Dunaja
• Kráľovský palác – 700 ročné sídlo maďarských kráľov

OSVIENčIM AS FOLLOWS=

• Počas druhej svetovej vojny bolo mesto pričlenené k Nemeckej ríši a bol tu vybudovaný najprv koncentračný tábor Auschwitz I v areáli bývalých kasární a neskôr na druhej strane mesta rozsiahly vyhladzovací tábor Auschwitz II – Birkenau (Brzezinka), v ktorom počas vojny zavraždili viac ako milión ľudí (hlavne Židov, ale taktiež Poliakov, Čechov, Rusov, Rómov a iných).
• Pri stavbe tábora Nemci násilne vysídlili okolité poľské obyvateľstvo v okruhu 40 km (taktiež z osvienčimskej štvrte Zasole, ktorá sa nachádzala za riekou Sola).
• Po porážke Nemecka (Osvienčim bol oslobodený sovietskymi vojakmi) sa tu obnovila poľská správa. Sovietsky zväz, ktorý z územia Poľska vytlačil Nemcov, dosadil k moci komunistov. 

Múzeum moderného umenia Andyho Warhola =

• Andy Warhol bol známym americkým maliarom, filmovým tvorcom a významnou osobnosťou v hnutí pop art.
• Narodil sa v Amerike, prisťahovalcom rusínskej národnosti z dediny Miková pri Medzilaborciach.
• Prvá expozícia predstavuje diela jeho brata Paula a jeho synovca Jamesa.
• Druhá expozícia pozostáva z cenných autentických materiálov o pôvode Andyho Warhola, listín a rekvizít, ktoré svedčia o rusínskom pôvode umelca.
• Tretiu najväčšiu expozičnú časť reprezentujú diela Andyho Warhola. Vidieť tam môžete diela zapožičané múzeu nadáciou Andyho Warhola pre vizuálne umenie v New Yorku, diela zo zbierok súkromných zberateľov a tiež diela, ktoré sú majetkom múzea.
