ICE HOCKEY GAME, WINNER´S MOMENTS 2023

This post contains very special moments during ice hockey game between Humenne city and Zilina city.

In the decisive seventh game of the final series of the SHL playoffs, Žilina won 3:2 after extra time and separate raids. The hero of the club from eastern Slovakia was Martin Lenďák, who was the only one to convert an independent raid in the fourth series.

Another important figure on the way to promotion was the Russian striker Igor Safaralejev (28), who has been working in Slovakia for the fifth year. Less than six minutes before the end of the decisive match, he scored the equalizing goal and sent the seventh duel to overtime. It is interesting that Safaralejev worked in Žilina before Humenny. With that, he failed to win the promotion twice, in the east of Slovakia it worked out on the first try.

Along with him, a wider enclave from beyond our eastern border enjoyed the title. With Safaralejev in the attack, compatriots Alexej Trandin and Andrej Legalin played, and their backs were supported by the Belarusian defender Yegor Kudin. Russian coach Andrej Parfenov signed off on the great performance of the entire team.

It is a huge success for the club HC 19 Humenné. The club was founded only four years ago. When the MHK Humenné team disappeared in 2019 due to existential problems, HC 19 Humenné was created. It was not considered a successor club, but a completely new team that was supposed to function in more modest and transparent conditions. The hard work has now paid off.

BETLIAR CASTLE AND MUSEUM, HISTORY MOMENTS´2023

This post contains very specific data and photogallery during my visiting Slovak National Museum in Betliar, moreover antique furniture and interior, exterior of Castle called Betliar.

The village of Betliar lies in a valley of the river Slaná, 5 km northwest of Rožňava. The first written description of the village is from the year 1330, when it is mentioned under the name Bethler (the term is of German origin meaning a cart used in copper mining). It belonged to the Bebek Hungarian noble family (of the Ákos genus) and later the Andrássy family. The inhabitants lived on mining, agriculture and forestry. The mining heritage of the village and the natural environment of the Volovské vrchy (hills) has made Betliar into a tourist destination.

The most well-known place in the village is the manor house, built on the site of a small Bebek’s castle from the 15th century. It is situated in an English-style park, designed by the architect H. Nebbiem. The mansion has been rebuilt many times, most recently by the Hungarian Andrássy family in the year 1880. Since that time its appearance has been preserved with minor changes and renovations; currently it serves as an exposition of the Slovak National Museum.

In the year 1985 it was declared a national cultural monument. Of particular interest among sacral sights is a classicist evangelical church from the year 1794. Originally it was built without a tower, which was later added in the year 1834. The Roman-Catholic church of Saint Elisabeth has an even older history. It was built in the first half of the 14th century in a Gothic style. In the 17th and 19th century it was reconstructed.

The history of Betliar is also connected with many people, such as the writer Ján Fabricius. In the village there is accommodation available in hotels, pensions, lodging houses and private homes.

Village was appeared like mining colony in the late 13th century. There were mined gold, iron and copper. In the 15th century there came Walachian people. In the 18th century was rise of mining and in Betliar was blast-furnace and rolling mill. The heraldry of village appeared in 16th century and on this heraldry depicts renaissance shield with two ploughshares, share and vomer. Nowadays in actual heraldry is historical heraldry situated above manor house.

HAPPY EASTER IN VIHORLATSKE MUSEUM IN HUMENNE, MOMENTS´2023

This post contains special photos during my visiting Vihorlatske muesum in Humenne, especially exhibition called “Karpatská Kraslica”, my selfie and meaning of Happy Easter season and Holidays for Christians.

Easter, also called Pascha (Aramaic, Greek, Latin) or Resurrection Sunday, is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus Christ, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.

Easter-observing Christians commonly refer to the week before Easter as Holy Week, which in Western Christianity begins on Palm Sunday (marking the entrance of Jesus in Jerusalem), includes Spy Wednesday (on which the betrayal of Jesus is mourned), and contains the days of the Easter Triduum including Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Maundy and Last Supper, as well as Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. In Eastern Christianity, the same days and events are commemorated with the names of days all starting with “Holy” or “Holy and Great”; and Easter itself might be called “Great and Holy Pascha”, “Easter Sunday”, “Pascha” or “Sunday of Pascha”. In Western Christianity, Eastertide, or the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the 50th day, Pentecost Sunday. In Eastern Christianity, the Paschal season ends with Pentecost as well, but the leave-taking of the Great Feast of Pascha is on the 39th day, the day before the Feast of the Ascension.

Easter and its related holidays are moveable feasts, not falling on a fixed date; its date is computed based on a lunisolar calendar (solar year plus Moon phase) similar to the Hebrew calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established only two rules, namely independence from the Hebrew calendar and worldwide uniformity. No details for the computation were specified; these were worked out in practice, a process that took centuries and generated a number of controversies. It has come to be the first Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or soonest after 21 March. Even if calculated on the basis of the more accurate Gregorian calendar, the date of that full moon sometimes differs from that of the astronomical first full moon after the March equinox.

HAPPY 1. BIRTHDAY TO MY NEPHEW OLIVERKO, CELEBRATION MOMENTS´2023

This post contains very special family pistures that represents celebrations of my nephew and his 1. birthday. Happy 1. Birthday dear Oliverko.

From early childhood we have a tender affection for our brothers and sisters. When they have children, we love the little nephews and nieces as much as our own children. Newly made aunts and uncles like to take care of children and give them gifts for the holidays.

For the holidays, older children bring not only toys, but also sweet words of birthday wishes to their nephew or niece. You shouldn’t say too pretentious a text, just a few simple, kind words for parting. Wish the child to grow up big and smart, learn well and obey his parents. Of course, these words are not original, they say to children almost every holiday.

However, for a child, the originality of congratulations is not the main thing at all, the main thing is to feel that they are said with love, kindness and care. It is good if warm family feelings remain even when the nephew or niece grows up. If you’re still going on vacation with a big friendly family, you can’t do without a decent birthday wish for your nephew. If you want the words to sound more original, put them in a poetic form. A cheerful, short or, conversely, long sincere poem as a birthday greeting for a nephew will surely cheer up the birthday boy and all the guests.

My nephew, I wish you the best of luck On your 1. birthday now from the bottom of my heart! And let the troubles and bad weather pass. Although sometimes there are difficulties.

HAžÍNSKE FAšIANGOVé SLáVNOSTI, MOMENTS´2023

This post contains pictures from our community event called “Hažínske Fašiangové hody”.

“Fašiangy” is the period from the Three Kings until midnight before Ash Wednesday. Then follows a 40-day fast (introduced at the end of the 4th century by the Christian Church) until Good Friday. It is a transitional period (in the usual cycle) between winter and spring.

According to sources from the period of Great Moravia, the term mjasopust (end of eating meat before fasting) was used here in the 9th century. In the Czech Republic, this word was preserved as carnival, but in Slovakia we later adopted the German name of Fašianga (German: der Fasching).

Mardi Gras celebrations differed regionally, although there were commonalities. For example, in the Liptov region and in the village of Čičmany, a stew was cooked, to which the whole village was invited. First, the bachelors went around the village a week before the party and invited the girls, but also the elders. During this round, they did not forget to collect eggs and bacon. The fried rice was usually prepared by the magistrate, then the entertainment began, which included roasted donuts, caramel, strudel, gooseberry and other local specialties. It was customary to make schnapps in Honta. The boys went around the village and picked grain, also associated with going around after the girls and asking for bacon, sausage, and somewhere they also gave them smoked meat. Everything was taken to the spinning mills, where the girls prepared a feast. Carnival ended on Tuesday at midnight.

WINTER SELFIE MOMENTS´2023

This post contains my latest photogallery during season of Winter.

Winter is one of the seasons in the temperate zone following autumn and preceding spring. It has the shortest days and the lowest average temperatures. In areas further from the equator, snow often occurs in winter.

Astronomically, it begins with the winter solstice (around December 21 in the Northern Hemisphere and June 21 in the Southern Hemisphere), and ends with the vernal equinox (around March 21 in the Northern Hemisphere and September 21 in the Southern Hemisphere).

In meteorology, December, January and February in the Northern Hemisphere and June, July and August in the Southern Hemisphere are counted as whole months by convention.

HREBIENOK, REINEROVA UTULŇA, BILIKOVA CHATA, HIGH TATRAS, HOLIDAYS MOMENTS´2022

This post contains very special moments during my holiday in high tatras.

Hrebienok is a tourist center located above Starý Smokovec at the foot of Slavkovský štít at an altitude of 1,285 m above sea level. m.
The emergence of Hrebienok as a tourist center is related to the development of tourism in the High Tatras in the second half of the 19th century. Starý Smokovec, which was granted the status of a spa town at that time, attracted tourists who fell in love with this place.

The beginnings of construction on Hrebienok are linked to the construction of the Bilík cottage, which stood on its northeastern slope. In 1894, a road with a hard surface was built next to the hiking trail. The cable car from Starý Smokovec built in 1908 prompted the construction of the Hrebienok Hotel in 1928.

The construction of training meadows and slopes near the hotel began in 1930. In 1956, a 750 m long ski lift was built on the slalom meadow to the Slavkovská lookout, and in 1968 the referee’s tower. Electric lighting of the toboggan run took place in 1959.

Ján Juraj Rainer, a tenant of Starý Smokovec, was the first to discover the benefits of providing comprehensive services to guests who came for a medical stay in Smokovec. Smokovec was a convenient starting point for hikes to Lomnický štít and to Mala and Veľká Studena dolina. The Starolesnian glade provided a convenient place for the construction of a small cozy house, which could provide an emergency overnight stay and protection from discomfort. The first step was to improve the path from Smokovec to Hrebienok. In 1863, he developed a cottage project. It was built two years later. It was made of stone, with small windows and one room measuring 5 x 5.5 m. Inside there was a hearth and a wooden crossbar. The cottage did not last long. When Juraj Rainer died, it started to deteriorate. The guests of Starý Smokovec gathered in 1876 to repair it. The second year, the Hungarian Carpathian Society contributed with a collection. They repaired it, but it no longer attracted tourists.

CHATA PRI POPRADSKOM PLESE, HIGH TATRAS, HOLIDAYS MOMENTS´2022

This post contains very special moments during my visiting cottage close to Popradske Pleso.

The Cottage close to Popradský pleso stands near the ball. Popradské pleso is the fourth largest lake by area. There is a symbolic cemetery for the victims of the High Tatras in the limbo grove near the lake.

Pleso was together with Mengusovská dolina in the village of Mengusovce. Even so, it bears the name of the distant city of Poprad. Probably because the Poprad river flows through it, which springs from the marsh under Ostrva. Popradské pleso as mentioned in the Latin work Bibliotheca, seu Cynosura Peregrinantium, hoc est: Viatorium in duas partes digestum (Liber Secundus) (Ulm 1644) Kežmarčan Dávid Fröhlich. Polyhistorian Matej Bel in 1736 mentions it as Fish Eye. He speaks of it as a ball in which, as the only one on the southern side of the High Tatras, fish lived. The name was taken over by Hungarians and Germans, but because on the Polish side of the Tatras, Rybí pleso was called Morské oko, they called Popradské pleso Malé rybie oko or Popradské rybie oko. The ball was even referred to as the Mengus Ball, which had a rational basis. In the end, he took over and established the name Popradské pleso.

ŠTRBSKE PLESO, HIGH TATRAS, HOLIDAYS MOMENTS´2022

This post contains very special photos during my visiting mountains in Štrbske pleso in high tatras.

The name of the lake is derived from the Subtatra village of Štrba. It is a moraine lake created by a retreating glacier. It is the second largest body of water on the Slovak side of the High Tatras after Velky Hincovo pleso. It occupies an area of 19.76 ha, the volume of its waters is 1,284,000 m³ and in some places it reaches a depth of 20 m. The Budapest professor Dionýz Dezső was the first to definitively map and measure it in 1875.

Strba tarn – Szentiványi used the lake for the entertainment of spa guests – boating and fishing. He planted fish here in 1860. Ice was mined from the lake in the winter months. Already in the winter of 1872-1873, they delivered several wagons to Budapest restaurants, later to Poprad and Kežmar butchers, to Polish Wroclaw, but also to the imperial court in Vienna. The ice was transported by carters and trains of the Košice-Bohumín Railway. The last shipment was about February 1902 for a Budapest brewery.
