Tatranská Lomnica is one of the cadastral territories of the town of Vysoké Tatry, until recently an independent municipality. Tatranská Lomnica is one of the largest settlements in the territory of the High Tatras. It is located 6 km east of Smokovec, at the foot of Lomnický štít.

The SAS Astronomical Institute is located here.

This territory had since 1209, when it was the subject of the first royal donation of Andrew II. several owners. The last private owner was Ondrej Spóner, from whom the Hungarian state bought this territory in 1892. In this year, the first state spa was established in the High Tatras and another of the Tatra settlements – Tatranská Lomnica. In 1893, Hotel Lomnica was built, at that time the largest in the territory of the High Tatras, later a remarkable Spa house with a pool and hydrotherapy. In 1905, a representative Grandhotel was built, which was renamed Grandhotel Praha in 1919. At that time, several sports grounds, a ski and toboggan run, an ice rink, and tennis courts were built.

In the interwar period, a number of family boarding houses and private residences grew up in Tatranská Lomnica. In 1933, the largest modern rehabilitation center in Morava was also built. The settlement gained its main tourist attraction in the years 1937 – 1940, when a cable car was built to Skalnaté pleso and Lomnický štít. Its construction also enabled the construction of astronomical and meteorological workplaces at Skalnat pleso and on Lomnicky štít.

Christmas tree as the basis of Christmas
One of the most important symbols of Christmas is the Christmas tree and its decoration. The Christmas tree came to us around the 16th century from Germany. In the streets, centers and shop windows we see decorated trees at least since Advent. Originally, the Christmas tree was replaced only by decorated branches. Later, Christmas trees became popular in our country, which were placed in the common room – often they were hung on a beam or even “upside down”. The Christmas tree is most often a pine, hemlock or spruce. Recently, artificial trees, which make life easier for people, have also become popular here. We decorate the tree according to our own discretion and imagination. According to one of the legends, decorating the tree comes from the time of Martin Luther. The candles on the tree symbolize the stars, and the large star at the top represents the star of Bethlehem. Little by little, the trees began to be decorated with decorations such as dried fruits and nuts.

The decorations on the tree indicated the wishes that people hoped would come true. Christmas balls on the tree One of the first decorations that we hang on the Christmas tree right after the lights are Christmas balls. Christmas balls come in different sizes, colors and decorations. Their history began in 1889, when Frenchman Pierre Dupont patented their production. At first, the balls were only one-colored, later they were also decorated with ornaments. From the twentieth century, in addition to Christmas balls, other blown Christmas decorations such as stars, hearts, pine cones and angels began to be produced. Nowadays, there is a wide assortment and we can make Christmas balls at home, for example, from yarn, twine, straw or wood. Nuts and apples as a symbol of Christmas Nuts and apples have long been considered a symbol of Christmas in Slovakia. People hung them either on a tree or in windows. On Christmas Eve, the apple is cut. If a star appears after cutting, it means health and abundance in the family. After dinner, the oldest member of the family throws the nuts into the corners as a symbol of abundance in the family throughout the year.

And baking moments especially making vanilla tea cookies as following recipe that you can try as well:

INGREDIENTS
300 g flour
50 g powdered sugar
200 margarine
vanilla paste or essence
jam

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and process the dough.
Roll it out on a sheet pan to about 3-4 mm and cut out with molds.
Bake on a baking sheet lined with paper at 180 C for 12-15 min.
They should stay nice and white. We glue the baked cookies with fruit jam.

You are celebrating a wonderful jubilee today: your eightieth birthday. We stand before you, your most beloved, to wish you only the best for the given holiday and to give you words of thanks, love and admiration on this occasion.

We are very glad that you are still among us full of vigor, life and joy. You are the light of our life because you have been through a lot at a young age. You are a great, kind mother, you raised 2 children. You didn’t have an easy time in life, but with God’s help and under the protection of the Virgin Mary, you managed everything perfectly.

You have 5 beautiful grandchildren who like you very much and always come back to you with a smile. We thank you for all the years spent with you and for many years to come we will try to make you as happy as possible among us. We thank you for the education, care and love that you continue to give us.

She dedicated her life to family and work. Together with your grandfather, you raised 2 sons, built a house, improved the farm, and went to work. Later, you helped your children to stand on their own feet, you devoted yourself to your grandchildren. Today we are all here with you, and we will happily celebrate your eighth cross on your neck. We admire and respect you. Your wrinkles testify to your experience. About the fact that everything was not always easy. They are proof of your great knowledge of life. Your gray hairs decorate you and we younger people have respect for them. Respect for what you went through, how you fought life’s pitfalls and never gave up. You are a strong person. Koloman Magyary, known under the stage name Kali (* December 29, 1982, Bratislava), is a Slovak rapper from Petržalka who has been active on the hip-hop scene since 2008.

He released his debut album, Pod maskou je pravda, in 2010. Another album, Načo čačat, was also released in 2010. In 2011, he continued with the album The End is a New Beginning. Due to financial problems, this album was supposed to be the last, but Don Čičo helped Kali in this situation, which was reflected in 2013, when the diss, Škola repu, was released, on which the rapper Momo was a guest. However, in 2017, according to Kali, he and Momo are good friends.

He released his debut album in February 2008, the well-known DJ Abe from H16 provided the production for him, and already then there was talk of another rapper from Petržalka. The track “Zaplať hok si jebal” suddenly became number 1 in the hit parade on Hip-Hop.sk

Kali is mainly known for the song “I’m Proud”, produced by Smart, for which a music video was shot. He used Double-time in the track. Rapper Gamba and DJ Grimaso appeared in the clip.

Already after the release of the album Bad Example, in an interview for High-Life, he admitted that he wanted to end his career, that he had one more album planned and finally a double album Dezert. He planned the album Psycho, but it was later renamed to Dezert.

In the end, he gave up on ending his career. In 2018, he released the album Dovi Dopo, which was not originally supposed to be released. So he is still rapping and a few months ago he released another album called Ale ne.

Dear family, our dear father, grandfather – today’s birthday!

Our whole family gathered today to celebrate the anniversary of our father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle. We are all your loved ones here. All those who respect and love you.

I stand here before you, your eldest daughter, but who else but I should give you words of thanks. Let me tell you for all of us – your children, that you were and still are a good father. You were always kind to us, but at the same time strict when it was necessary. It was you who taught us to bike, ski, swim, you taught us to love nature. It was you who taught us to respect people, to do good, to simply be a decent person. It was you who played with us, with whom we went on trips full of adventures. You and mom created a family environment where children can live their childhood happily. And even now, when we are adults, we still have you and you are our support. We would like to repay you at least partially.
Father. You are a person whom people rightly respect and admire. You have always been a man of action. You are a hardworking, diligent person. A person who acts. And what remains behind you is proof of that. The time is approaching when you can leave your job and take a well-deserved rest, devote yourself to your hobbies. Maybe it will be difficult for you because work has always been an important part of your life, but after so many years of going to work every day, you deserve to take time for yourself. And I’m also guessing that you spend some time with your grandchildren to be as good a grandfather to them as you were to us.

Things to do in autumn in the garden
October is here and you are thinking about what to do with the garden? What to do in autumn in the garden? Or what to plant in autumn? Before the last leaves fall from the trees and the first snowflakes fall, we still have a lot of work to do to get the garden in order. It is important, and sometimes underestimated, that we prepare the garden for the coming winter season, and thus prepare it for proper regeneration and pumping of nutrients and energy when spring comes again. We will summarize in a few points what must not be forgotten so that everything is ready for a new start in the spring.

1. Getting rid of dead plants

At the end of summer, the garden loses its charm and begins to look shabby and untidy. With autumn comes a list of duties that the garden requires. When collecting the harvest and getting rid of all dry plants and leaves, we can evaluate the situation, which plants and bushes need treatment, trimming or transplanting. In addition to plants, we should rid the garden of rotten fruits and vegetables, since they can contain mold and pests, and these should not go to the compost.

2. Planting new plants and trees

In autumn it is time for my favorite garden activity – planting new trees and bushes and flowers. Ideally, we should plant these plants no later than 4 weeks before the first frost, so that the roots have time to take root before the arrival of winter.

3. Cutting trees

Trimming and trimming trees in the fall is an important part of tree care, ensuring their health and strength for the new season. The method of trimming trees may vary slightly depending on the gardener, but these steps will occur everywhere. First of all, it is necessary to get rid of dry, broken and possibly infected diseased branches. The second step is to get rid of young shoots that grow from the trunk or inappropriately into the crown. We try to cut off the shoots, as close to the place where they grow as possible, so as to leave as little residue as possible.

In sum, I have spent my birthday by swimming at Thermal Pools in Sarospatak, Hungary.

Sárospatak is a town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, northern Hungary. It lies 70 kilometres (43 miles) northeast from Miskolc, in the Bodrog river valley. The town, often called simply Patak, is a cultural centre, a historical town and a popular tourist destination.

The area has been inhabited since ancient times. Sárospatak was granted town status in 1201 by King Emeric. In the Middle Ages it was an important place due to its proximity to an important trade route leading to Poland.

This post contains very special moments during summer at lake called “Vinnianske jazero – Vinné jazero”.

Lake “Vinianske jazero”, often sought after by visitors, is located north of the village, in a forest environment. It occupies an area of ​​8 hectares, its greatest depth is 3.8 meters. Lake Vinianske was created at the end of the 19th century as a pond, by building up an artificial dam and partially bringing water from the Vinianske stream, which flooded the marshy area. Today, the lake area is one of the most frequented and sought-after tourist areas in the cadastre of the municipality. During the season, several cultural events are organized right on Lake Vinia. One of the most successful events in the region, with the support of the Košice self-governing region, are the Jánske ohne organized every year in June. Lake Vinianske provides a perfect place to rest, relax and spend free time by the water.

Lake Vinianske is located in the cadastre of Vinné, 11 km from Michaloviec and only 3 km from Zemplínská šírava. It is surrounded by beautiful nature. It was created by creating an artificial dam and bringing water from the Vinianske stream to the saddle at the foot of Marečkova and Šutova hills. It is small in size, only 8 ha, but visitors say it is one of the warmer lakes. It is intended for swimming, water sports and fishing. Its average depth is 3 m.

There is a rental of pedal boats, boats, a tennis court, a sports equipment rental, a beach volleyball court, yachting and water sports lessons, and a children’s playground. The area offers many options for accommodation and catering. You can stay in a cottage settlement, a car camping, in several guesthouses and hotels in the vicinity. In winter, the lake is used for ice skating. The area is popular thanks to excellent conditions for hiking and cycling. In the summer season, this area offers rich cultural and social activities.

This post contains very special moments at Sarospatak thermal pools, moreover summer vibes, sunshine, fresh air, swimsuit…

The history of the swimming pool next to the town of Sárospatak (read Šárošpatak) began in 1959, when a thermal spring was drilled and the first wooden pool was built on the bank of the Bodrog river. Two years later, a brick pool was built in the place where the swimming pool is located now. High attendance gradually required the construction of a children’s pool and a swimming pool.

Since it was one of the most visited swimming pools in Hungary, additional pools and attractions, including water slides, were added.

In 2009, the swimming pool underwent a major renovation and additional services for visitors were added. At the swimming pool, you can communicate (somehow) also in Slovak.

The thermal complex is located near the Slovak-Hungarian border, the journey by car from Košice takes approximately 1 hour. The complex consists of a thermal bath and an outdoor swimming pool. Several swimming pools and a sauna area are available in the vast park.

You can also enjoy traditional swimming pleasures thanks to water attractions such as a toboggan and a water mill. There is also a special baby pool and a playground with climbing frames next to the children’s pool. The pool filled with thermal water with a temperature of 36˚C is, in turn, an ideal space for relaxation and regeneration for all age categories, as is the vast sauna world.
