This post contains very special moments during Christmas of 2021. Especially this post focus on christmas baking, christmas decorations, christmas Tree, etc. And of course celebrations and fireworks during Happy New Year of 2022.
Christmas or Christmas holidays (abbreviated Holidays) are Christian holidays of the birth of Jesus Christ, today also generally – Christians and non-Christians – celebrated holidays of peace and tranquility at the same time. As a religious and cultural celebration, they are celebrated by billions of people around the world. They are preceded by their preparatory period (Advent or Filipovka) and continue with the Christmas octave, resp. a holiday or period called the Christmas season. The days of December 24-26 are non-working days and are celebrated as a family or social event by most non-Christians, who sometimes refer to them only as “holidays” that do not refer to their Christian aspect.
Christmas is (along with Easter) one of the most important Christian holidays, December 25 is a holiday in almost all Christian churches. Many folk traditions, songs (carols), decorations, dishes and other customs are associated with Christmas.
The content of the holiday is the celebration of the incarnation and physical birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. God becomes man and accepts human nature so that through his humiliation, and later death and resurrection, man can share in God’s life. The birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated in the vision of his whole life, which is why, in addition to the birth / incarnation, Christ’s death, his resurrection and the redemption of mankind are mentioned in the liturgical texts. The liturgical texts are full of paradoxes, which point in particular to the humiliation of Jesus into absolute poverty (a cave that serves as a beast) and the helplessness of a small child.
The New Year is the holiday of the beginning of the new year and, according to the Gregorian calendar, falls on January 1. On the night of December 31 to January 1, the world celebrates the end of the old and the beginning of the new year.
According to other calendars, New Year’s celebrations fall on other days, for example, the Jewish New Year, called Rosh Hashanah, falls on the September of the Gregorian calendar. The Byzantine New Year was celebrated on September 1, and this date is preserved to this day as the beginning of the church or liturgical year in the Byzantine ceremony. January 1 in the Julian calendar, which is used by some Orthodox and Eastern Catholic churches, falls on January 14 according to the Gregorian calendar, so sometimes January 14 is referred to as the Julian Civil New Year.
New Year is a national holiday in Slovakia and in many countries.
